Job Summary

As a CT Technologist at SSM Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients. You will be responsible for performing computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury, following protocols established by radiologists. This position requires the ability to prepare and position patients, select anatomic and technical parameters accurately, and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Prepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring accurate and safe procedures.
  • Select anatomic and technical parameters for CT scans, taking into account patient needs and medical requirements.
  • Administer contrast media and/or medications as needed, following established protocols and regulations.
  • Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormalities to radiologists.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by radiologists or department managers.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or completion of a Radiology certification program or registered in Radiology.
  • No experience required, but prior experience in radiology or a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • ARRT-T Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • ARRT-CT Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) Certification and Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Credential - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
