As a key member of the anesthesia team, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective anesthesia care tailored to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout surgical and medical procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations and document findings.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to anesthesia administration.
- Provide comprehensive care during induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia recovery.
- Consult on airway management and participate in emergency response as directed by supervising anesthesiologists.
- Offer guidance and support to residents and medical students during their anesthesia rotations.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program recognized by the AANA Council.
- Successful completion of the national certification examination within one year post-education.
- Active RN and APRN licensure in the State of Oklahoma, including prescriptive authority.
- Current PALS and/or ACLS certification.
- NBCRNA certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate care for diverse patient populations.
- Exhibit critical thinking and advanced clinical assessment skills.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software relevant to the role.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation for travel between facilities is necessary.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perceive sounds adequately, with or without correction.
- Vision must be adequate for reading and preparing reports.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
- Ability to accurately assess and administer care based on sensory input.
- Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for medication administration and instrument handling.
- Ability to work in environments with latex exposure.
