Role Summary:
As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective anesthesia care tailored to patients of various ages. Your expertise will be essential in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients throughout surgical and medical procedures. You will also conduct thorough pre and post-anesthetic evaluations and ensure informed consent is obtained for anesthesia services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia and provide continuous monitoring during surgical interventions.
- Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and document findings accurately.
- Deliver comprehensive post-anesthesia care to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Consult on airway management and participate in emergency situations as directed by supervising anesthesiologists.
- Provide educational support to residents and medical students during their anesthesia rotations.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program recognized by the AANA Council.
- Successful completion of the national certification examination within one year of fulfilling educational and clinical requirements.
- Active RN and APRN licensure in the State of Oklahoma, including prescriptive authority.
- Certification in PALS and/or ACLS.
- Current NBCRNA certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care and interact effectively with patients.
- Exemplary critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and data management.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel between facilities as required.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perceive sounds adequately or with correction.
- Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform necessary tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Physical capability to lift at least 60 lbs. and perform various movements such as bending and kneeling.
- Ability to assess and administer care accurately through fine motor skills.
- Willingness to work in environments with latex exposure.
