Job Overview

Position Summary: Oversee and maintain the industrial electrical systems within the organization, ensuring optimal performance in both facility operations and machinery functions. This role encompasses managing new electrical installations, conducting regular maintenance, and engaging in process enhancement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification recognized by the State or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards applicable to industrial environments, including machine setup and repair, control systems, and infrastructure maintenance. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret electrical schematics, connect power for 120VAC and 480VAC systems, install conduits, and manage PLC and equipment control wiring (480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC). Proficient in wiring control components, sensors, switches, actuators, solenoids, and maintaining DC and single/three-phase AC motors. Competent in handling variable frequency drives, servos, and encoders. Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities for electrical machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Connect power sources to machinery, equipment, and motors.
  2. Install and wire control panels and devices on various machines and equipment.
  3. Guide apprentice electricians towards achieving a Journeyman's license or equivalent certification.
  4. Work collaboratively with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to fulfill electrical requirements for new projects, equipment upkeep, and process optimization.
  5. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards throughout the organization.
  6. Execute additional electrical tasks as required.

Training Requirements:

  • Orientation for New Hires
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures Training
  • Scissor Lift Operation Training
  • Aerial Lift Operation Training
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training

Authority Level:

  1. Training of Apprentice Electricians
  2. Immediate action on critical safety concerns

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Use of ladders as necessary
  • Occasional outdoor tasks

Compensation: $31.00 to $37.00 per hour
