Metals Supervisor Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Metals Supervisor to lead and manage the metals fabrication and processing functions within our organization.

This position entails overseeing a skilled team of metalworkers, ensuring that all metal-related operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Metals Supervisor

  • Team Leadership and Management:
    Direct and oversee a team of metalworkers, welders, and fabricators, providing mentorship, training, and support.
  • Fabrication and Processing Oversight:
    Manage the fabrication, welding, and installation of metal components and structures in accordance with project specifications.
  • Safety and Compliance Enforcement:
    Implement safety protocols and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards.
  • Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:
    Establish and maintain quality control measures to guarantee that all metalwork meets or exceeds project standards.
  • Resource and Inventory Management:
    Oversee the inventory of metal materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring sufficient supply and proper maintenance.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain detailed records of fabrication activities and prepare regular reports on production progress and safety performance.

Qualifications for the Metals Supervisor Position

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree with 4 years of directly related experience, or 8 years of experience in shipbuilding or repair.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair techniques, and safety practices.
  • Prior experience in metal trades or as a Fitter.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets, and the ability to interpret technical instructions.
