Job Description

The Strategy and Policy Department at MITRE is seeking a highly skilled Intel Budget Formulation Expert to support the Office of Economic Security and Emerging Technology (OESET). As a key member of our team, you will provide expert resource advice to our sponsor in the planning and oversight of the OESET's budget formulation and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis and recommendations on budget allocation and resource management to ensure effective implementation of the OESET's mission.
  • Develop and maintain complex budget models and forecasts to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior intelligence officials to ensure critical mission requirements are funded and properly executed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential budgetary challenges.
  • Review and analyze budget exhibits to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Leverage existing IT systems to collect, monitor, and analyze current budget allocations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Experience with government budget systems and processes, including the Congressional Budget Justification Book (CBJB) and the National Intelligence Programs (NIP).
  • Proficiency in Excel and Tableau, with the ability to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and capability to advise on all aspects of the federal acquisition life cycle to implement and adopt innovative acquisition solutions.
  • Experience with the Military Intelligence Programs (MIP) and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
  • 2+ years of experience with government budget systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of budgetary policies and procedures, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Work Environment:

This position requires an on-site presence of 5 days a week at our facility.
