Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our team at Amergis. In this role, you will work closely with adolescents with behavioral challenges, providing essential support and guidance to help them overcome their unique needs.

About the Role:

As a Behavioral Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating teacher-led instruction, reviewing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans, and performing ABA-related teaching strategies. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring student safety during crisis behavior, supporting students during transitions, and providing alternative environments when needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in working with children with special needs
  • Desire to work with adolescents with behavioral challenges
  • Reliable transportation

Training and Development:

Amergis provides an intensive training program created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) specifically for school settings. Our training program reviews ABA principles and strategies to manage common and severe student behaviors. Upon completion of training, Amergis staff are prepared to respond to crisis behaviors, implement de-escalation strategies, and manage post-crisis evaluations.
