CornerStone Staffing has partnered with the City of Dallas to fill a Bilingual Customer Service Clerk position in the WIC Department.
Job SummaryThe Bilingual Customer Service Clerk will provide clerical, administrative, and professional customer service work in support of the WIC program. This includes interviewing and evaluating applicants, recording and documenting information, and verifying eligibility for program resources.
Responsibilities- Interview and evaluate WIC program applicants to determine income and residency eligibility.
- Record and document information on appropriate forms and complete forms accurately.
- Verify ID, check immunizations, and perform extensive interviews to determine eligibility for program resources.
- Issue WIC food instruments, complete data entry, track and complete inventories, and prepare and maintain reports.
- Collect and gather medical history data, compile blood samples, and obtain heights and weights on adults, children, and infants.
- Enter data accurately on XP software and identify recall items and collect medically necessary formulas.
- Interact with WIC participants in a courteous manner, provide correct information regarding WIC services, and make appointments.
- Provide professional administrative and clerical support, answer the telephone, and provide good customer service.
- Screen and check immunization records to determine immunization status and provide information and referrals as needed.
- Refer WIC participants to appropriate health and social service agencies.
- 2 years of experience in health care, education, community, or social services.
- Identify as having been part of WIC's target population and be trainable as a paraprofessional.
- State of Texas Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be bilingual in Spanish.
- Knowledge of the Power of Influence (P.O.1.) principles when providing WIC services.
- Knowledge of WIC program and working with women, infants, and children.
- Knowledge of customer service and program information.
- Ability to work with computers and provide information.
- Ability to communicate program standards.
- Ability to evaluate applicants and direct to appropriate resources.
- Ability to complete WIC nutrition modules during probationary period.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skills Testing.
- Drug Testing.
- Background Check.
