Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team at Elevance Health. This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for managing accounting and project teams, as well as overseeing day-to-day month-close and quarter-end accounting, reporting, and analysis functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews journal entries and reconciliation, monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis, and complex and comprehensive analysis of financial results.
  • Prepares and presents financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
  • Manages SOX and other internal controls.
  • Coordinates and leads critical and complex projects. Prepares internal management reporting and manages internal and external audits.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Requires BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business and minimum of 8 years progressively more responsible experience in a Controller or senior financial management position with a medium to large insurance company; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CPA, CFM or CMA designation preferred.
  • MBA or Masters in Accounting preferred.

Work Environment

We operate in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
