Huron Regional Medical Center is a critical access hospital with 25 beds, committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to the residents of Huron and the surrounding counties. Our team is dedicated to offering compassionate care and exceeding patient expectations.
Department: Medical/Surgical Unit
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Inpatient Services Director
Employment Status: 60-72 hours per two-week pay period with rotating weekends and holidays
Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts with rotation
Job Type: Full-time
Weekly Hours: 30-36
Remote Work: Not applicable

Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Aide will perform a variety of essential duties to ensure continuity of care for our patients, including:
- Assisting patients with daily living activities and personal care.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Documenting patient care and observations accurately.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience, with proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding medical terminology.
- Preferred: Certified Nurse Aide license in South Dakota.
- Physical ability to assist patients, requiring knowledge of proper body mechanics.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with patients and staff.
- Willingness to undergo cross-training as needed.
Work Environment
- Direct interaction with patients and visitors, with potential exposure to communicable diseases.
- Work is performed in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment with physical demands that may include lifting and moving patients.
- Frequent walking, standing, and other physical activities are required.
- Minimal job hazards present.
