Resident Care Training Assistant

At McLaren Health Care, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Care Training Aide to join our team. This role is responsible for completing a minimum training program to become a Certified Nurse Aide in the state of Michigan. The successful candidate will be trained on the essential functions and responsibilities of the position, including personal care, vital signs, hygiene and safety, interpersonal skills, resident rights, mobility, record keeping, bed linens, and transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist residents with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, using the toilet, eating, and drinking
• Track vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, as well as blood glucose monitoring
• Understand and implement hygiene practices to protect yourself and patients from infection
• Develop strong interpersonal skills, including patience, understanding, and empathy, and effective communication
• Respect patient privacy and maintain the security of their belongings
• Learn and assist with mobility aids and help patients learn how to use them
• Record treatments and medical information to share with nurses and doctors
• Change bed linens to keep patients comfortable and clean
• Safely transfer patients from a bed to a wheelchair, chair, or toilet
Requirements:
• Pass a criminal background check
• Pass a negative drug screen
• Have a negative tuberculosis test within a year
• Have a valid Michigan driver's license or State ID card
• Be able to attend all scheduled classes
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years old; consideration given to a minor of 17 years old with parental consent
