Practice Overview
Our Westford Internal Medicine practice is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to patients aged 17 and older. We offer a range of services including annual physical screenings, telemedicine consultations, same-day sick visits, and ongoing care for chronic conditions.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with expected onsite hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Role Summary
The Practice Assistant role is crucial to the operations of our community-based physician practices. These professionals provide essential administrative support, acting as the first point of contact for patients and ensuring that our team delivers an exceptional experience that meets and exceeds patient expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prior to patient visits, Practice Assistants are responsible for scheduling appointments and obtaining necessary prior authorizations from insurance providers for specific procedures.
- During patient visits, they focus on check-in procedures, which include welcoming patients, addressing their inquiries, and assisting with any pre-visit documentation.
- At the conclusion of each visit, Practice Assistants manage check-out processes, which involve completing forms, collecting co-payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments, tests, or procedures.
Qualifications
We believe that strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for patient care are essential. Other qualifications include:
- Experience in a community-based medical practice is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
