Role Summary
Opus Inspection is in search of a proficient IT Support Technician to enhance our technical team. In this role, you will be tasked with delivering technical assistance and support to our staff, addressing hardware and software challenges related to their desktop and laptop systems. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring the seamless functionality of our IT infrastructure and maximizing user efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first-tier technical assistance to end users through various channels, resolving hardware and software challenges related to desktop and laptop systems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Set up and deploy new computers, laptops, and mobile devices for team members.
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with company policies.
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify, assess, and implement technological solutions to improve user experience and productivity.
- Conduct routine maintenance and updates on computer systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades as necessary and maintain an inventory of computer equipment and software licenses.
- Document all technical issues, solutions, and processes to build a knowledge base for future reference and training.
- Provide user training and guidance on the effective use of hardware and software applications.
- Adhere to IT best practices and security protocols to protect company data and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience as an IT Support Technician or in a comparable technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and other user account management systems.
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar services, including fundamental troubleshooting and escalation processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to collaborate effectively with end-users at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are preferred.
