Dietary Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction by providing exceptional food service and support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble patient trays accurately and neatly, ensuring that all food items are properly dated and at the correct temperature.
- Assist in assembling food trays and deliver to patient units as required, maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
- Provide assistance during the preparation and assembling of additional items for tray-line, as needed, and ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Check food items for proper dates and ensure that all food is stored and handled in accordance with safety protocols.
- Manage the stocking of the area when the work shift is completed, putting stock and supplies away in proper areas and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Operate and clean equipment such as refrigerators, steam tables, coffee machines, and other kitchen appliances, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and properly maintained.
- Wash pots, pans, and other small cooking equipment by hand, utilizing appropriate cleaning and sanitizing agents, and ensuring that all dishes and utensils are washed and sanitized according to acceptable standards of practice.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety protocols, and perform a variety of routine kitchen duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, and stand for long periods of time.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent, and prior work experience in a hospitality environment is preferred.
