Position Overview

The Senior Accountant at USOP, LLC will play a pivotal role in the preparation of comprehensive monthly financial reports and will collaborate closely with the Controller to deliver valuable financial insights to the executive and operational management teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating monthly operational reports and executing journal entries
  • Conducting thorough analyses of operational reports and providing feedback to senior management (primarily CFO & COO) regarding variances
  • Evaluating key labor and productivity metrics, including reconciling projected outcomes with actual results
  • Managing accounting for revenue across multiple locations and related compensation accruals
  • Assessing actual performance against departmental expectations
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Handling cash accounting and bank reconciliations
  • Collaborating with the Controller on various special projects and requirements as they arise
  • Conducting accounting research as necessary

The Senior Accountant will engage with executives to meet their analytical needs and will maintain frequent interactions with executive members.

Ideal candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in business or management, along with 3-5 years of relevant post-college experience. Candidates who have undertaken analytical responsibilities in previous roles and are prepared to take on increased accountability are highly sought after. Proficiency in a Financial Accounting software package, such as Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, is advantageous; however, extensive on-the-job training will be provided as needed. Strong Excel skills are essential. Candidates who exhibit a general curiosity about business and a strong desire for professional growth will excel in this role.

Work Environment and Expectations:

Initially, this role will require the employee to dedicate 80-90% of their time to the structured responsibilities outlined above. Ad-hoc analyses and requests will constitute the remaining portion of the candidate's time. Once a high level of proficiency in these core areas is achieved, there will be numerous opportunities for the candidate to expand their daily responsibilities into other areas of interest and organizational need.

The candidate must possess the ability to think quickly, respond intelligently, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations. With experience, this candidate will gain significant exposure to the executive team. This dynamic organization offers ample opportunities for growth and career advancement for the right individual.

The candidate will have the flexibility to manage their own working hours, with an understanding that deadlines may necessitate adjustments to their schedule. No travel is anticipated.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced Excel and communication skills
  • Intermediate relationship management skills
  • Basic project management skills

Experience Required:
3-5 years of relevant post-undergraduate experience is recommended.

Computer Proficiency:
Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Intermediate to advanced skills with a mid-range accounting software package (Great Plains preferred)

Education:
College Degree – Required (Accounting)

While a CPA is not mandatory, candidates who are pursuing or have obtained their CPA certification will be viewed favorably.
