ROLE INTRODUCTION

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining property and equipment. This role is essential in ensuring that daily operational needs are met, contributing to optimal efficiency and exceeding guest expectations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and various other systems, along with knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. Proficiency with tools, common appliances, and devices is essential.

  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and problem-solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and strength, with a readiness to work overtime

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute a range of duties to install and maintain property equipment, fixtures, and mechanics.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from management, staff, and residents.
  • Conduct inspections of all buildings, cottages, and communal areas.
  • Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in optimal working condition and ensure the maintenance area is organized.
  • Perform repairs related to electrical systems, heating, and plumbing, including basic electrical tasks, HVAC knowledge, and plumbing duties.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and necessary documentation.
  • Assist in preparing vacant rooms or cottages for new guests, including carpentry, drywall, painting, and other repairs.
  • Ensure the property is well-maintained, clean, and always ready for guests.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
  • Provide consistent and reliable attendance.

COLLABORATION

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good physical condition and strength

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires regular communication and active engagement, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the day. The ability to lift or move items over fifty pounds is frequently necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Our fast-paced hospitality environment may require team members to assist with tasks outside their primary responsibilities, promoting an All-Hands-On-Deck approach. Each team member is expected to complete assigned tasks with enthusiasm and dedication.
