POSITION TITLE: Facility Maintenance Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of hotel facilities and equipment. This position requires expertise in various trades, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct maintenance on electrical systems, including replacing bulbs and cleaning circuit panels.
  • Ensure the functionality of heating and plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Perform manual repairs as needed, such as fixing door locks and window fixtures.
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms and public areas.
  • Address maintenance requests and resolve complaints efficiently.
  • Carry out general upkeep tasks, including landscaping and painting.
  • Utilize carpentry skills for various projects, including drywall work.
  • Inspect facilities to identify current and future maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping to ensure all equipment is operational and included in the maintenance program.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate staffing needs.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: At least 6 months of experience in maintenance; 2 years preferred.

Equipment: Proficient in using various power tools and hand tools.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain stationary, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Must have good vision, including peripheral and depth perception.
  • Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various positions and environments, including cramped spaces and heights.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role may require wearing protective gear and working in both indoor and outdoor settings. The position involves exposure to various environmental conditions and potential hazards.
