Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant II at CommonSpirit Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Under the direction of the healthcare provider, you will be responsible for performing preliminary physical tests, obtaining and recording vital signs, and preparing patients for exams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations.
- Prepare patients for exams by obtaining and recording medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Administer ordered medications and vaccines via oral, injection, or topical administration.
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider.
- Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required if applicable.
- 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
- Ability to perform urine drug screens, administer injections, and effectively communicate with staff and patients.
