Job Summary:

Under the direction of the healthcare provider, you will be responsible for performing preliminary physical tests, obtaining and recording vital signs, and preparing patients for exams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations.
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining and recording medical history, medications, and allergies.
  • Administer ordered medications and vaccines via oral, injection, or topical administration.
  • Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider.
  • Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required if applicable.
  • 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
  • Ability to perform urine drug screens, administer injections, and effectively communicate with staff and patients.
