Job Summary

This role is responsible for coordinating work activities on a daily basis to meet customer delivery schedules under the direction of the Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of Tool Maker experience and a high school diploma or general education degree.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Uphold and demonstrate Howmet's values in approach to work, decision making, and interpretations of ethical guidelines and policies for subordinates.
  • Communications: Communicate verbally and in writing to peers, superiors, internal and external customers, and suppliers.
  • Administrative Skills: Use Microsoft Office to organize and track work orders, supply supervision with work order tracking spreadsheets for review, and monitor shop supplies and order through Central Stores or 'spot buys' as needed.
  • Tool and Die Maker Skills: Build fixtures, disassemble and reassemble machinery, read blueprints and schematics, troubleshoot, repair, and problem-solve, inspect tools and finished dies, and use measuring tools and computer drafting software.
  • Scheduling: Execute assignment instructions for work during and between shifts to align for changes, absences, equipment downtime, or necessary overtime.
  • Work Systems: Ensure adherence to work systems, including work instructions, labor reporting, visual controls, and Integrated Process Control, and audits.
  • Training: Identify, evaluate, and document training, communicate needs to supervisor, and train operators using one-on-one training methods or other techniques.
  • Safety: Monitor work environment for safety issues and act to correct problems, utilize the 5S program to maintain a clean and safe workplace, and follow Howmet's Safety Regulations and Work Rules Handbook.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of Tool Maker experience.
  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Prior Tool Maker experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a leadership role preferred.
