About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Rehabilitation Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Maintenance of Therapy Areas
    • Prepare and maintain therapy areas, including ordering supplies and pharmaceuticals, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Support to Therapists
    • Monitor and assist patients as instructed by licensed therapists, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and support.
  • Transportation and Logistics
    • Transport patients safely and efficiently to and from therapy areas, using wheelchairs and stretchers as needed.
  • General Office and Front Desk Procedures
    • Assist with general office and front desk procedures, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Work Experience
    • No prior experience required, but 5 years of relevant experience or education in a clinical program is preferred.
  • Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical demands of this role include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects, and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

This role involves working in a patient care area, working with patients, and/or working with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. As such, there is an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
