Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Set-Up Mechanic to join our team at Pharmavite. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting equipment to manufacture and package products while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, safety rules, and good manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute changeover schedules for each machine/line, ensuring that changeover parts are cleaned and inspected prior to each changeover.
  • Review and implement changeover checklists, set up, and start up each piece of equipment.
  • Support machine/line operation until steady-state operation is achieved.
  • Identify and perform adjustments to improve production during line operation to meet all production requirements, including line speeds, quality, efficiency, daily production output, and required changeover times.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment by making regular inspections and completing assigned preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment and perform minor repairs.
  • Assist senior mechanics in diagnosing problems to learn to perform complex repairs.
  • Issue maintenance requests for major repairs.
  • Communicate with leads and supervisors on schedules and priorities to ensure smooth flow of correct materials into manufacturing and other areas in accordance with production schedules.
  • Maintain all required documentation, including cleaning logs, maintenance logs, and production records.
Requirements
  • A working knowledge of the manufacturing/packaging operation, usually resulting from a minimum of one-year experience as a machine operation or set-up mechanic.
  • Sufficient mechanical aptitude to perform routine repairs, adjustments, and precision set-up procedures on machines/equipment.
  • The ability to safely work with standard hand tools and portable hand tools.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently to communicate equipment problems, read and understand operating manuals, and maintain written records.

Average annual pay: $51,000 - $61,000

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law.
