Position: Packaging Technician - 12HR Day Shift

Role Overview

As a Packaging Technician, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of various packaging machinery, including the ISIDA Weigher, MS Filling system, and NJM Capper/Sealer/Retorque. Your role will involve inspecting, packing, and palletizing finished goods while adhering to established quality and safety standards. You will play a vital role in fostering a collaborative environment within the Packaging department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic filling and labeling machinery.
  • Adjust equipment settings for optimal production runs using hand tools.
  • Ensure packaging lines are consistently supplied with necessary components.
  • Utilize computer systems to manage machine operations and adjustments.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the packaging process, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Maintain accurate logs of production and cleaning activities.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Assist in assembling product batch records for compliance with cGMP standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for packaging processes.
  • Train new operators on production line functions.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Sanitize equipment at the end of production runs.
  • Adhere to all safety and operational protocols.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:

A High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 months in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.

Skills:

Proficiency in reading and understanding standard operating procedures in English.

Ability to communicate effectively in English for instruction and collaboration.

Basic mathematical skills for equipment adjustments.

Experience operating manufacturing machinery is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

Capable of lifting and moving loads up to 50 lbs with mechanical assistance.

Manual dexterity for operating machinery and tools.

Must be able to navigate stairs and use ladders as needed.

Work Environment:

Exposure to elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection.

Working conditions may include warmth, vibrations, and dust.

Protective gear, including eyewear and gloves, is mandatory.

Annual Pay Range: $34, $51,148.00
