Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our laboratory team. This role involves executing both standard and complex laboratory tasks, which include specimen processing, testing, and result reporting. The ideal candidate will also engage in quality control procedures, maintain laboratory instruments, and assist in developing new testing protocols.

About the Facility:
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills is a prominent healthcare institution, equipped with 150 beds and located in a rapidly expanding area. Our specialized services encompass a range of medical fields, including orthopedic and surgical care, intensive care, women's health, and comprehensive cardiovascular services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and addressing minor repairs as needed.
- Participate in cross-training across various laboratory sections.
- Adhere to the laboratory's quality control standards.
- Accurately calculate and verify laboratory results.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information System effectively.
- Document and communicate critical laboratory findings promptly.
- Process patient specimens with care, mindful of pediatric volume requirements.
- Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new testing methods and protocols.
- Demonstrate competence in patient care responsibilities, catering to the specific needs of diverse patient populations.
- Adapt assessment and treatment methods to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Uphold the core values of CHRISTUS Health in all professional interactions.
- Complete all compliance and regulatory tasks in accordance with established policies.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant scientific field from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience as per CLIA regulations.
- A minimum of one year of experience for graduates from an accredited clinical laboratory training program, or two years of clinical laboratory experience, including rotations in essential laboratory sections.
- New graduates who are Board Certified or eligible are also encouraged to apply.

Work Schedule:
This position operates on a schedule from 2 PM to 10:30 PM.
