Position Overview:
At Grainger, we are developing systems to maintain our market leadership for decades to come. While many organizations discuss 'digital transformations' or 'exceptional experiences', we are focused on creating solutions that truly matter.

Our expertise stems from a deep understanding of our customers and their needs, as well as how our products and services deliver value.

We thrive on tackling complexity and scalability challenges that few companies are fortunate enough to experience. We are in search of Senior

You will hold the overarching responsibility for assisting IT leadership and the organization in managing the complete lifecycle of IT investments and programs to meet enterprise objectives.

Your role will involve managing intricate projects to enhance the customer experience across various digital channels throughout their journey.

This role will intersect with multiple IT and business teams, necessitating orchestration and influence. You will serve as the primary contact for all team member inquiries and concerns regarding IT projects.

Understanding business functions, including objectives and strategies, industry trends, strategic partner relationships, executives, decision-makers, and competitive positioning in the marketplace will be essential.

You will report to the Portfolio Director.

Your Responsibilities:
Oversee portfolio management processes throughout the lifecycle, including demand management, resource allocation, execution, and financial oversight. A significant focus will be on identifying and quantifying the impact of decisions necessary to accommodate new demands.

Comprehend project tasks, gather requirements and definitions, and delve into the root causes of the problems being addressed, including processes and potential business enhancements, ensuring all initial project stages are fulfilled (requirements, design, funding).

Ensure project delivery, including coordination of ceremonies and resolution of issues. Manage communication with all groups, including your team, peripheral teams, and executive sponsors.

Achieve financial objectives by obtaining approvals from business and IT partners through the development of a business case, outlining value creation, submitting accurate monthly forecasts, managing the budget through forecasting requirements, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

Collaborate with global, senior-level leaders to translate business strategies into technical project execution, operating at both strategic and operational levels to manage team member expectations and perceptions.

Interpret challenges and recommend best practices to enhance products, processes, or services. Lead others in identifying innovative solutions. Collaborate with Order to Cash stakeholders and the Customer Order Preferences Product team to develop a comprehensive roadmap.

Articulate the value of projects through the creation of financial business cases or other mediums, ensuring value capture upon project completion.

Contribute to achieving customer, operational, project, or service goals; work is guided by functional policies.

Your Qualifications:

You will possess an IT and business background with financial acumen that enables you to guide engagements and interact at the highest levels of the enterprise.

You will have the technical depth, business experience, and financial understanding to effectively communicate the benefits of your work. Familiarity with the development process and how to inject value and economic discussions to accelerate plans is essential. A BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience is required. 8+ years in IT product or portfolio management or project management is necessary. Experience managing substantial IT projects from ideation through delivery is essential. Experience in Supply Chain and familiarity with Order to Cash concepts, practices, and solutions is preferred. Ability to translate technical jargon into easily understandable language for non-technical audiences is crucial. Encourage others to adopt alternative perspectives on complex concepts. Oversee dependencies across programs within the portfolio; identify and mitigate risks or promote the escalation of such.

Compensation and Benefits:
