Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Banking and Lending Professional to join our team at the Bank of Montreal. As a Portfolio Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and portfolio management in lending services for existing and potential clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing new business proposals and presentations to clients and prospects.
  • Prepare for client meetings and account opening documentation.
  • Develop client communications as required.
  • Identify and recommend workflow process alternatives to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Ensure timely resolution of client questions and concerns.
  • Perform client sales and service support activities as required.
  • Determine client needs and complete transaction processing.
  • Provide after-sales support and handle exceptions tactfully and efficiently.
  • Review and provide feedback on client solutions and credit structure.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of integrated private banking services and lending procedures.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
  • Complete comprehensive analysis for risk, financial, and profitability rating and assessments.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor and track performance and address any issues.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Implement and monitor procedural and policy changes as required.
  • Manage operational audits and controls for banking and general branch administration.
  • Manage day-to-day portfolio administration activities.
  • Monitor the timely and accurate setup and maintenance of accounts.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • May specialize as a funding specialist or credit underwriting specialist.
Qualifications
  • Typically between 4-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires Credit Qualification in accordance with established credit qualification processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Commercial Loan and Underwriting experience in a financial services environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal and commercial credit and non-credit products, monitoring/operational processes, and applications.
  • In-depth understanding of loan and security documentation, including registration and renewal routine.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth.
