JOB TITLE: Finishing Technician

SUMMARY

The Finishing Technician is responsible for the meticulous cleaning, deburring, polishing, and grinding of forged components. This role involves executing a variety of essential tasks to ensure the highest quality of finished products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilizes hand tools such as drills to effectively clean, deburr, polish, or grind forged components.
  • Operates buffing and grinding wheels to achieve the desired finish on forged parts.
QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty competently. The qualifications outlined below reflect the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent educational background (GED) is required; candidates may also possess up to one month of relevant experience or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The ability to read and comprehend straightforward instructions, brief correspondence, and memos is essential. Candidates should also be capable of writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals is necessary. Candidates should also be able to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

Candidates must possess the ability to apply common sense reasoning to execute detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. The ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations is also required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle parts. They must also reach with their hands and arms and may occasionally need to stand or walk to move parts or containers weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision and color vision.

This position involves access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations. To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. Person as outlined in these regulations.
