Leidos Defense Systems is in search of a skilled Advanced Radar Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of Radar System Models and Software. Join a dynamic team dedicated to crafting innovative solutions for intricate challenges related to foreign weapon systems.

With a presence across the United States, Leidos engages in various sectors including defense, space, cyber, and commercial domains, delivering effective, economical intelligence, engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.

In this position, you will collaborate with a team focused on developing radar system software models that support radio frequency (RF) and Electronic Warfare (EW) initiatives for the Defense Intelligence and Electronic Warfare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include:
• Creating analytic to high-fidelity models of RF systems to facilitate EW analysis.
• Integrating models into both real-time and non-real-time simulation frameworks.
• Evaluating the impact of operator involvement on radar and missile weapon system simulations.
• Developing threat models aligned with intelligence evaluations, covering aspects such as waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking, signal processing, and closed-loop missile behavior.
• Focusing on Simulation and Graphical User Interface (GUI) development, primarily for Windows platforms.
• Conducting testing, verification, and thorough documentation of development and analytical processes.

Qualifications


Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an ABET-accredited institution, along with 4+ years of relevant experience or 2+ years with a pertinent Master's degree.

Candidates should possess a strong background in C++ and/or object-oriented programming.

Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of digital signal processing.

Familiarity with MATLAB or Python (or other simulation tools) is essential.

Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate efficiently within a team environment are required.

Self-motivation and the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively are crucial.


Demonstrated skills in one or more of the primary focus areas are expected, along with a willingness to engage in a highly technical team to tackle challenging problems utilizing a diverse skill set.


An active SECRET level clearance (or higher) is required, or candidates must have previously held a SECRET level clearance (or higher).

Candidates should be willing to relocate if necessary.

Preferred Skills:
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge of radar principles and electronic warfare.


Experience with concepts such as scrum, RF, weapons system analysis, modeling and simulation, graphics and displays, and real-time operating systems is advantageous but not mandatory.


Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.), Git, Bash or PowerShell, and Windows Presentation Foundation is preferred but not required.
