Responsibilities of an LPN

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you'll be responsible for:

  • Caring for patients with a variety of illnesses, injuries, and diseases in facilities under the supervision of an RN
  • Working with a team of physicians, RNs, CNAs, and aides to deliver excellent patient care
  • Taking patient vitals, doing assessments, documenting progress, and reporting changes to RN supervisor
  • Assisting RN in carrying out physician's orders, patient care, and prescribed treatments
  • Administering medication, operating medical equipment, and maintaining a safe environment
Requirements for the LPN Role
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program and active LPN license in VA
  • Minimum of 6 months of LPN experience in a long-term care facility
  • CPR certification
  • Covid-19 vaccination
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency, critical thinking skills, good communication, and compassion
