LPN Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Meritas Health in Richmond, MO.

Job Summary

The LPN will provide patient care under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner, or other non-physician provider. This includes administering medications, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and returning patient calls in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Competently assists providers to maximize patient volume
  • Administers medications and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Returns patient calls in a timely manner
  • Ensures effective patient communication and efficient patient flow
  • Documents patient care accurately and timely
  • Performs EMR tasks correctly and timely
  • Processes patient referrals timely and follows up to ensure specialist report or test result is received
  • Follows all regulatory and patient safety clinical standards
  • Works and communicates effectively with all providers
  • Promotes teamwork and provides great customer service in person and on the telephone
  • Performs administrative duties such as greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification of tests, procedures, and medications, processing insurance forms, preparing financial records, answering phones, and entering ambulatory care charges
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing or accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current license to practice in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a physician's office setting, preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association
  • Basic office skills, patient-centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
