Position Overview

The role of the Revenue Cycle Cash Poster encompasses more than just a position; it is a vital contribution to our healthcare mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily cash postings and reconcile both electronic and manual payments.
  • Access payer remittance information from various online platforms for accurate posting.
  • Conduct regular analysis of documentation to ensure precise payment and adjustment postings.
  • Investigate unidentified payments to guarantee proper allocation to respective accounts.
  • Generate and review balancing reports to confirm accuracy in postings.
  • Digitally archive all necessary cash posting documents into the electronic document management system.
  • Offer insights for process enhancements as needed.
  • Recognize and adhere to deadlines related to payment research and application, ensuring daily objectives are met.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations regarding patient information confidentiality, including HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, specifically in billing, collections, payment processing, or denial management is preferred.
  • Relevant clerical or banking experience will also be considered.

Educational Background

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to pass a basic computer skills assessment and complete system-level training.
  • Familiarity with transaction posting and daily reconciliation processes.
  • Capability to analyze trends from various payors and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through effective collaboration with diverse individuals in both individual and team settings.
  • Analytical skills to perform calculations, analyze remit codes, and manage account reconciliations.
  • Proactive in identifying issues, conceptualizing solutions, and implementing changes.
  • Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, and customer service abilities.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with computer systems.
