The role of the Revenue Cycle Cash Poster encompasses more than just a job; it is a vital part of our healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash postings and ensure accurate reconciliation of both electronic and manual payments.
- Retrieve payment remittances from various online platforms for processing.
- Conduct regular analysis of documentation to guarantee precise payment and adjustment postings.
- Investigate unidentified payments to ensure correct allocation to respective accounts.
- Generate and review balancing reports to confirm accurate data entry.
- Digitally archive all necessary cash posting documents into our electronic system.
- Offer insights for process enhancements when applicable.
- Recognize and adhere to deadlines associated with payment processing to meet daily objectives.
- Comply with federal and state regulations regarding patient information confidentiality, including HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, specifically in billing, collections, payment processing, or denial management is preferred.
- Experience in clerical or banking roles will also be considered.
Educational Background
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to pass a basic computer skills assessment and complete system training.
- Familiarity with transaction posting and daily reconciliation practices.
- Capability to analyze trends from various payors and provide recommendations.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, effective in both individual and team environments.
- Analytical skills necessary for calculations, remit code analysis, and account reconciliation.
