Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the University of California. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and recording sonographic procedures, operating various types of ultrasound equipment, and recognizing normal and pathological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and record all sonographic procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols.
  • Operate various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices.
  • Recognize normal and pathological conditions and modify the exam accordingly to ensure complete and accurate high-quality information is obtained.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures using established ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image.
  • Review, verify, and evaluate images to ensure excellent image quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ultrasound-related PACS issues.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects within the department.
  • Float within the department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer license issued by ARDMS (RDMS) in AB & OB/GYN.
  • BART or BLS at the time of hire with a commitment to get BART within six (6) months of the hire date required.
  • Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, as needed.
