Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in San Diego, California. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment and transducers.
  • Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment, including real-time and mobile units, to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Select correct technical factors and equipment settings based on patient age, body habitus, and examination requirements.
  • Process hard copy images properly, utilizing automated equipment, and follow specific infection control techniques.
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to clarify orders and ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • One year of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Basic Life Support within four months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Experience with Acuson Sequoia, Philips iu-22, and Clickview ultrasound reporting package.
