Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment and transducers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment and transducers.
  • Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment, including real-time and mobile equipment, to obtain quality diagnostic images.
  • Select correct technical factors relative to the requirements of the study and the patient's age and body habitus.
  • Process hard copy images properly, utilizing automated equipment.
  • Follow specific infection control techniques relative to ultrasound imaging.
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and work area in accordance with department guidelines.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Basic Life Support within four (4) months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) year's experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Experience with Acuson Sequoia, Philips iu-22, and Clickview ultrasound reporting package.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position with a schedule of 21 hours per week. The shift will be evening, with working hours starting at 2:30 PM and ending at 11:00 PM. The position requires working every other weekend.
