Under the overall guidance of the President/CEO, the Senior Executive of Commercial Banking is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial lending, collaboration with ancillary product partners, and operational activities within the business line. This role will focus on expanding, developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive commercial lending and deposit strategy that aligns with both short-term and long-term organizational goals, while also fostering and enhancing customer relationships.
The Senior Executive of Commercial Banking will lead the commercial division by setting a strong example, simultaneously managing a portfolio of significant commercial relationships alongside departmental leadership duties. Additionally, this position will oversee the bank's Treasury Management division.
Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in commercial lending is required, covering all sectors and asset classes within a traditional banking environment.
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing a commercial lending platform in a traditional banking setting.
- A solid working knowledge of products and services such as U.S. Small Business Administration lending programs, loan participations, interest rate hedging solutions, wealth and investment management, title insurance, and Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLB) offerings is crucial.
- Proficient computer skills are necessary, including advanced expertise in spreadsheets and intermediate skills in word processing and presentation software.
- A strong understanding of key regulatory issues and control assessment processes is required.
- Eligibility for registration with NMLS is mandatory.
- A robust focus on business development and a strong commitment to community and civic engagement are essential.
