Job Title: Assistant Professor in Marine Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Professor in Marine Biology to join our academic faculty at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Laayoune City, Morocco.

Job Summary

The Research Center on Algal Biotechnology (RCAB) at UM6P is looking for a talented individual to establish a research program focusing on seaweed biology, ecology, and cultivation. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students, supervise M.Sc. and PhD students, and develop research proposals aligned with the center's vision.

Responsibilities
  • Teach marine biology, seaweeds cultivation, and aquaculture courses to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Supervise M.Sc. and PhD students in their research projects.
  • Develop research proposals and lead innovative research initiatives in bioprocessing technologies.
  • Participate in various committees at the center, college, and university levels.
  • Enhance the research profile of the center through publications and presentations.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the management of the center.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Ph.D. in marine biology or a closely related field with advanced knowledge in seaweed biology, ecology, and cultivation.
  • Strong commitment to leading innovative research initiatives in bioprocessing technologies.
  • Proficiency in supervising M.Sc. and PhD students in the seaweed biology domain.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students in marine biology, specifically in seaweeds cultivation.
  • Proficiency in collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Active engagement in research activities, such as writing research proposals and contributing to the research profile of the center through publications.
  • Established publication record in peer-reviewed journals as the first author.
  • Participation in relevant committees, commitment to continuous professional development, and effective communication of research outcomes.
