The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodations and common areas, collaborating closely with the Housekeeping Management Team to uphold brand standards and ensure guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify the essence of Sonesta Service in all guest interactions, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Address guest inquiries and special requests, taking necessary actions to guarantee complete satisfaction.
  • Thoroughly clean and service designated rooms or areas following established protocols, which include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and managing waste disposal.
  • Inform supervisors upon completion of room servicing to facilitate timely occupancy. Report any rooms that cannot be serviced according to established guidelines.
  • When assigned to laundry duties, oversee laundry supplies and equipment, ensuring they are operational. Operate washers and dryers in line with hotel standards and manufacturer instructions. Inspect soiled linens for damages or stains and manage clean linens accordingly.
  • Conserve supplies and amenities throughout all housekeeping operations.
  • Occasionally assist with deep cleaning initiatives.
  • Report maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with established procedures.
  • Foster teamwork and quality service through effective communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all levels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay hospitality sector is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is preferred; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics are preferred.
  • Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
  • Capability to lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals is required.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
