Job Summary

The Room Attendant is a vital member of the Housekeeping Management Team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of guest rooms and public spaces. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding guest service by responding to guest complaints and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
  • Notify supervisors when service is completed, and report any rooms unable to be serviced according to established procedures.
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order, and operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of housekeeping, and report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Handle lost and found items according to established procedures, and promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred, and other languages are beneficial.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are required, and frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility are necessary.
  • Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds is required, and working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
