Job Overview

The Artisan Baker plays a crucial role in the preparation, baking, and presentation of a variety of fresh baked products for the dining establishments and special occasions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates closely with the Executive Chef to assess the weekly requirements for baked goods across all dining venues and events.
  • Proposes innovative items based on ingredient availability, seasonal trends, promotional events, and customer preferences.
  • Follows established recipes while adjusting quantities as necessary to meet production demands.
  • Prepares and packages baked items to ensure adequate stock for days when baking is not scheduled.
  • Ensures all products are baked, handled, and stored in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Presents baked goods attractively to enhance guest experience and ensure ease of access.
  • Stays updated on the latest baking tools and equipment, making recommendations to the Executive Chef.
  • Reports any kitchen-related issues or deficiencies to management promptly.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and bakery areas, including service coolers and display sections.
  • Implements the FIFO (first in, first out) method to keep all products fresh and rotated.
  • May assist with inventory management and ordering of baking supplies as required.
  • Adheres to the health and personal hygiene policies of the Food & Beverage department.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Team Members may encounter secondhand tobacco smoke, particularly those working in specific areas. The noise level is generally moderate but may occasionally increase.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Frequent carrying, reaching, twisting, bending, and squatting is required.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production baking, including bread and desserts, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Compliance with alcohol and drug testing policies is required.
  • Must maintain a valid gaming license as required.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
