Position Overview
The Pastry Chef is tasked with the creation, baking, and presentation of all freshly baked items for the dining establishments, event catering, and special occasions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates closely with the Executive Chef to assess the weekly pastry requirements for all dining venues and special functions.
- Proposes innovative and seasonal items based on ingredient availability and customer preferences.
- Formulates and adheres to recipes, adjusting quantities as necessary to meet production demands.
- Prepares and packages baked goods to ensure adequate stock, particularly for days when baking is not scheduled.
- Ensures that all products are baked, handled, and stored correctly to maintain quality and freshness.
- Arranges and showcases baked items attractively for guests while ensuring ease of access in display areas.
- Stays updated on the latest baking tools and equipment, recommending enhancements to the Executive Chef.
- Reports any kitchen issues or deficiencies to management promptly.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and baking areas, including service coolers and displays.
- Implements the FIFO (first in, first out) method to keep all products fresh.
- May assist with inventory management and ordering of baking supplies as required.
- Adheres to the health and personal hygiene policies of the Food & Beverage department.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
Team Members may encounter secondhand tobacco smoke, particularly those working in gaming areas. The noise level in the workplace is generally moderate but can occasionally become high for brief periods.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours.
- Must frequently carry, reach, twist, bend, and squat.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum age requirement for this position is 18 years.
- Must obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment.
- At least 2 years of combined experience in baking bread and desserts or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must comply with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
- Must maintain a valid gaming license as required.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
$19.00 per hour / D.O.E.
