Community Violence Intervention Specialist

Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Violence Intervention Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing trauma-informed intervention and case management services to individuals injured by community violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community violence intervention programs (CVIPs) and hospital-based violence intervention programs (HVIPs) to support individuals affected by violence.
- Respond to referrals and provide resource referrals to other agencies and services as needed.
- Manage and support data management within Apricot, HMIS, and other data management software and programs.
- Engage participants in HVIPs and CVIPs, providing support and assistance with navigating community resources.
- Facilitate inter-organizational cooperation with community agencies, county services, healthcare professionals, and community groups.
- Attend trauma-informed trainings and workshops locally or nationally.
- Assist with community engagement and outreach methods, including visits to agencies, organizations, and employers to build collaborative partnerships.
- Advocate for participants and act as a liaison with community providers and agencies.
- Stay informed on policy, procedure, and activities that affect the program, including accreditation and federal regulations related to funding sources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, preferred.
- Relevant lived experience with the justice system and/or community engagement.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with at-risk youth and the juvenile justice system, required.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with youth (ages 12-24), especially boys and young men of color.
- Understanding of the impact of violence and trauma on individuals and communities, particularly gun and group violence, preferred.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekend hours.
- Experience with recruitment and case management, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must possess or be able to obtain Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card.
- Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid AZ driver's license, current auto insurance, and meet Goodwill's acceptable driving record insurance requirements to travel throughout the Southern Arizona area.
