Job Summary

ENT and Allergy Associates is seeking a self-motivated and people-friendly Certified Medical Assistant Floater to join our team. As a Medical Assistant Floater, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in our Long Island offices.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for their appointments by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  • Support patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; and telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies.
  • Educate patients by providing medication and instructions; answering questions.
  • Complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
  • Keep inventory of supplies.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • NextGen is a plus.
  • Previous experience is a plus.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required, with preference given to candidates holding certifications such as CMA or RMA.
  • Alternatively, candidates with any of the following qualifications will be considered: Five years of continuous experience working as a Medical Assistant, Bachelor's degree in Biology, Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
  • Must be flexible with schedule.
