Job Overview

The role of an Experienced Sign Painter involves preparing and applying paint to various sign components, including sign faces and cabinets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively prepare different substrates for painting
  • Prepare items for painting, which includes masking, sanding, and applying filler materials
  • Mix and match paint colors accurately
  • Utilize spray booths with HVLP guns for painting tasks
  • Maintain and service painting equipment such as spray guns and booth filters
  • Disassemble and mask signs/materials for painting, including sanding and minor bodywork
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Possess knowledge of gravity feed and pressure pot systems

Qualifications

Applicants for the Experienced Sign Painter position should meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to lift or carry heavy materials with assistance
  • Familiarity with OSHA and PPR standards related to painting
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow production orders accurately

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent training and experience

Experience Requirements

  • Prior experience in metal painting is essential, or equivalent experience in automotive body painting.
