Director of Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens. As a key member of the University of Georgia team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and development of the gardens, ensuring that all programs meet the highest academic standards, and delivering services in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the gardens, including visioning, planning, and implementation of programs and services.
- Represent the gardens at various meetings and events, promoting and developing positive relationships with stakeholders and donors.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the gardens' mission and goals.
- Oversee the fiscal operations of the gardens, including budgeting, financial reporting, and grant writing.
- Supervise a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the success of the gardens.
- Collaborate with UGA Extension and other stakeholders to develop research and demonstration opportunities for UGA Horticulture and other UGA faculty and County Extension ANR Agents in the southeast Georgia area.
- Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field, such as horticulture, botany, or a related field.
- Experience in facility management, personnel supervision, educational program delivery, and fund development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team setting, manage a team, and work independently as directed.
- Physical demands include access to a reliable private vehicle, lifting 50 lbs or more, working in various weather conditions, and frequent evening and weekend work.
