Behavioral Health Technician

Mass General Brigham is seeking a per diem Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Belmont, Massachusetts.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and be responsible for providing accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including establishing therapeutic relationships and participating in patient rounds or teams.
- Accurately and timely document patient care, including AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets.
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis and utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations.
- Communicate changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse and follow established Nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Participate in the maintenance of the unit environment to ensure safe care and identify and report house cleaning and equipment problems to the Unit Secretary/ND.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Prefer two years of college plus one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
- Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in collaboration with others.
