Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief of Quality Enhancement is accountable for the strategic development, organization, and management of a comprehensive program aimed at elevating the standard of care within Northern California Behavioral Health System.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

· Offer insights on clinical and quality matters, advocating for substantial advancements in areas such as infection control, error reduction, and fostering a culture of safety.

· Oversee the maintenance of all quality-related data for the organization.

· Lead the planning and execution of successful process improvement initiatives or programs.

· Manage the systems, documentation, and procedures necessary for the effective implementation and auditing of the quality enhancement program.

· Supervise the development of educational materials for improvement initiatives, ensuring that adequate resources are available to provide expert support for the program.

· Direct and coordinate a team responsible for implementing Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), patient satisfaction, policy adherence, and risk management strategies.

· Act as a champion for continuous improvement and professional growth within the organization, embodying the values and culture of Northern California Behavioral Health System.

· Enhance strategies for driving cultural change within the organization and gain a deeper understanding of how operational processes can be optimized in healthcare settings.

· Engage in activities that promote personal and professional development.

· Conduct regular rounds to serve as a resource for staff, encouraging them to share opportunities for improvement.

· Stay informed about changes in legislation and regulations that impact the healthcare sector.

· Uphold the organization's ethical standards and commitment to customer service.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge and Expertise:

· A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

· At least 3 years of experience in performance improvement, quality assurance, or risk management is essential.

· A minimum of one year in a supervisory or management role is required.

· Familiarity with psychiatric service delivery systems and treatment methodologies, particularly in performance improvement or quality assurance.

· Current knowledge of continuous quality improvement methodologies.

· Understanding of applicable standards and regulations.

· CPR certification is required (or to be obtained within the first month of employment).

· CPI certification is required (or to be obtained within the first month of employment).

Skills and Competencies:

· Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

· Exhibit sensitivity and willingness to engage with individuals from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

· Proficient in software applications (including Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements:
