Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of prescriptions, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Verify medicine is correct and check for possible interactions.
  • Process prescriptions by using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers and patients to resolve issues and answer questions.
  • Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
  • Assist in scheduling and maintaining work flow.
  • Report prescription errors to pharmacists on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.
