We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at La Frontera Center Inc. as a Behavioral Health Clinician. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Perform dispensary and medical tasks, including injections and basic nursing functions.
- Maintain accurate records on client dosage, attendance, and relevant side effects.
- Participate in counseling groups and provide clinical outpatient and/or in-patient treatment.
- Assist physician in examinations, evaluations, and record keeping.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate information on client dosage, physical problems, and relevant behavior.
- Attend and participate in in-service training sessions.
- Maintain dispensary, pharmacy, and examination room in acceptable sanitary condition.
- Coordinate with pharmacist as necessary for assembling doses for dispensing.
- Draw laboratory samples and facilitate follow-up medical treatment.
- Serve as client advocate with community agencies as appropriate.
- Transport and assist clients for various testing and treatment in hospital or clinic/laboratory setting.
- AZ LPN license.
- Knowledge of various treatment modalities.
- Skill in assessment procedures, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices.
- Demonstrated skill in providing counseling to groups.
- Academic and/or experiential knowledge of treatment services for special populations.
- Knowledge of, and ability to work with, SMI, addictive, dually diagnosed populations and/or other difficult client populations.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a member of a treatment team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural differences.
- Some knowledge of administrative, management, and supervisory practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to delegate and coordinate the work of others.
