Mental Health Therapist

The Bethel School District #52 is seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide mental health treatment to K-12 students and their families, working in collaboration with the nurse practitioner and our mental health team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and family therapy counseling
- Maintain the ability to pre-teach/teach skills and strategies to youth through prevention, education, and outreach as needed
- Provide crisis intervention and response, including suicide screening, assessment, and safety planning
- Coordinate behavioral health consultation and care coordination with nurse practitioner
- Meet data and metrics required for grants, as appropriate
- Provide case management, resource and referral, and advocacy services
- Participate in meetings, committees, trainings, workgroups and conferences, as appropriate
- Complete charting in a timely manner
- Apply mental health insurance billing systems and regulations
- Conduct groups and/or skill building classes, as indicated
- Offer support and assistance, as needed, in crisis situations in schools
Requirements:
- Master's degree in mental health field
- Clinical experience with children, youth, and families
- Ability to work calmly in stressful situations
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work harmoniously with students, parents, staff, and administrators
- Ability to apply FERPA and HIPAA confidentiality laws
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Utilize evidence-based, strengths-based, culturally appropriate approach
- Language(s) required: English, bilingual preferred
- Meet all standards and expectations of professional licensure board
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual candidates and candidates experienced in working with bilingual students and families will receive preferential consideration
