As a Speech Therapist II in Pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders for more complex cases. You will ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements, oversee the work of entry-level staff, and support community programs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Evaluation and Treatment: Evaluate and administer diagnostic tests, provide individualized treatment to adults and children for a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects. Advise physicians and member/caregiver of test results.
- Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with physicians as treatment plans change, provide training for more junior therapists, participate in developing in-service programs for staff development, and monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in non-Kaiser facilities.
- Policy Development and Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Identify and recommend opportunities to contain costs and improve services, and assist with community programs.
- Leadership and Consultation: Serve as a consultant on interdisciplinary teams, provide guidance and support to staff, and participate in developing and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
**Requirements:**
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years of previous experience as a Speech Therapist.
- Education: Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Licenses and Certifications: Speech-Language Pathologist License (California), Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate, National Provider Identifier, and Basic Life Support required at hire.
**Additional Requirements:**
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements, and ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
